The following spells have been revised for use in Heroes of Alvena from the core rules. The revisions are listed with each spell.
- Alter Self: Duration is 10 min/level instead of 1 min/level.
- Disrupt Undead: The ray that it fires is not positive energy or else it would heal living creatures. Instead the ray does what it says; disrupting the undead's connection to the negative energy plane. Other than not being positive energy, the effect is unchanged.
- Invisibility: Invisibility and Invisibility based effects no longer provide a +20 bonus on Stealth checks. The spell is otherwise unchanged.
The following spells have been added for use in Heroes of Alvena in addition to the core rules.
- Animate Undead Minion: Creates minor undead servants.
