I would like some help with ideas on a martial oriented ninja alternate class feature build.
These are my idea points.
1.) turn average BAB to Good BAB
2.) Replace no trace with resistance bonus to death effects
3.) replace Poison Use with a new ability
Spirit Sight (Su): Only those who have died once can see the strings that bind our souls…
A first for a nightmare is the ability to see their own thread that binds their life to this world. This is only achievable from a background involving a near death experience in order to learn of it and hone it.
At 1st level, they gain the ability to see into the ethereal plane for a number of rounds equal to 4+their wisdom modifier. This ability increases in rounds equal to +2 per level in Nightmare. While doing so, Nightmares are able to gain a 5% hit chance against a spirit without having magical weapons. This percentage increases by another 5% every level after 1st.
Another direction would be using the creation of 50ft long spiritual threads capable of allowing one to lift 10 lbs worth of weight outside their regular weight level. The increment being +1 spiritual thread every 4th level, 50 ft of spiritual thread equal to nightmare level, and 10 lbs extra equal to 1/2 nightmare level …
4.) replace ninja trick from 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level with combat style mechanic from ranger.
5.) replace 20th level advance ninja trick with ability.
Final Rest(Su): Only a true nightmare knows how to cut the ties of life that bind us…
When a nightmare hunter has full control over peoples threads of life, he becomes capable of even severing the subject from existance.
At 20th level, a nightmare may be able to initiate a death attack on a target after studying them for 3 rounds. Afterwords, the nightmare must latch a spirit thread on their designated target within the next 3 rounds. The target must then make a will save against this effect. The DC to resisting their Death Attack is 10+1/2 their nightmare level + their wisdom modifier. If a target fails their will save against the nightmares death attack, then the target is immediately killed by death effect. If the target saves against this attack, then they are stunned for 1d6+wisdom modifier rounds. Otherwise, they are immune to the nightmares death effect for up to 24 hours after.
Another option is using Ranger as the base class with the following changes.
1.) change good fort to good will
2.) Hunter bond with arcane bond (item)
3.) Wild Empathy with spirit thread
4.) Replace Favored Terrain with +2 against death effects each designated level
5.) master hunter with Final Rest
